Haha this is my first time posting!

Hey people! LOL, Ashley here.

Just a while ago, Li Lao Shi called me to inform me of some last minute important stuff to take note of,
so please read this email and take note yeah?

Ok so firstly, she wants the portfolio to be completed for the second round of handing in by next week.
If possible, she wants the testimonials for/from ur friends inside too, but if u can't get it done by then
she said she will postpone the deadline for the testimonial, but portfolio must be by next week.

Secondly, on the first day of school we will be given a new timetable so i guess this means u all just bring the subject notebooks
or smth cause not sure first day got what subjects so better dun bring textbooks first. Also, PLEASE rmb to sign and bring ur
report books, absolute MUST. If not, consequences may be severe..lastly, those who haven't finished their holiday homework
please finish up asap and study hard, that's what she urged us all to do.

And lastly! There's supposedly some ACE homework but since the homework thing wasn't delegated properly, in the end now
only some of us have the task sheet and stuff so it's either u all wait patiently to get the photocopied ones on the first day of school,
or u can ask some of ur friends from 4C? (Mr Leong uploaded the assignment on moodle for his ACE class pupils), and ask them to
send to u, or just photocopy from someone who has a hard copy. But just in case u wanna know, the topic is:

This is an individual assigment. You must submit a report for the United Nations' achievements over the years 2007 and 2008(so far)
in each of the areas listed below to its Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon. Make a list of the successes and failures of the United Nations
for each. For each one you should be able to provide examples to show what the UN has achieved in 2007-08 (Success/ Partial success / Partial failure/ failure?

The areas are:
- To maintain international peace and security
- To fulfill the peace-keeping role of the UN
- To settle disputes about borders, territories, i.e. the role of the international Court of Justice
- To achieve international cooperation in solving international problems and tension e.g. terrorism by militant groups
- To address human rights violations e.g. the Myanmar junta's crackdown on pro-democracy protestors in September 2007
- The humanitarian and development work of the UN (2007-08)
- To assist refugees and people made homeless by war
- To fight disease and improve medical care and knowledge
- To achieve gender equality
- To provide loans, mainly to developing countries, etc
- To foster international cooperation in transnational issues and thereby contribute to the safety and the well-being of people
- To consider what can be done to counter the threat of terrorism all over the world, and to actively fight against this threat in a
sustainable manner that addresses not just the issue of terrorism, but its deeper root causes.

Hmm that's about it, if u dun understand what the whole paragraph above is about, u can clarify on the first day of school or
call me or something cause there's supposed to be this reference paper for us to do this report so it'd be easier to answer the questions!

Oh ya, and please please inform your friends who don't check their email or the class blog(cause i posted there too just in case) to please check their emails!!
People who i didn't manage to include in this email are Linyun, Yiwei and Hongdou, please do the favour of informing them or forwarding this email to them
if your know their emails!! THANKS.

So that's about it, once again please remember to bring your report book and homework on Monday!

Enjoy the last 2 days of the holiday! haha

Cheers,
Ashley
